New Innovations: Asphalt Research Projects in ND

Presenters will describe three recent projects: A stone matrix project on I-29 north of Hankinson, which includes a high durability surface course for minimal rutting; a high reclaimed asphalt pavement project near Valley City, which was a test project to utilize higher percentage of recycled material into hot mix asphalt; and the ND 1804 project southeast of Bismarck, which included several test sections utilizing smaller nominal maximum size aggregates for thinner overlays.
